About Us
In Udupi and Dakshina Kannada, there was an age-old tradition of building homes using mud, jaggery, and lime. This unique method was well-suited to the region’s climate, helping maintain a cool temperature inside the house even during hot days. Back in the 1700s and 1800s, our ancestors used this sustainable technique to construct comfortable, naturally cool homes. At Belle Heritage Resort, we’ve embraced the same timeless wisdom. Our cottages are built using this traditional approach, and you can truly feel the difference in temperature between the indoors and outdoors. Each of our cottages is named after one of ten Sanskrit names of soil, symbolizing Mother Earth and paying tribute to our rich cultural heritage.
